OUTFIT: Hot Diggity Dog

Would I not be the quintessential New Yorker if I took a picture by a hot dog stand? Let's do this.

I love this leather skirt! It's been a true labor of love, as I purchased this last year (aka 30 pounds ago!) from Ashley Stewart - with some blood, sweat, and tears, I took in the waist and hemmed her. I refuse to let this skirt go. And just as much as I can't let go of this skirt, I can't let go of my monochromatic black and white look.
BFFs.
...see?
Styling Tip: Want to take your off-the-shoulder look up a notch? Scream "chic!" by tucking your shirt in; it lends to a more polished look. A statement necklace is the perfect finishing touch, always.

Outfit Deets:
Shirt - Gifted from Kellie from Forever 21
Skirt - Last season from Ashley Stewart
Necklace - from Baublebar, check out their assortment here
Lipstick - "Ririwoo" for MAC Cosmetics

OUTFIT: Keep It Classy

This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting my blogger gal Elann with Shay Tucker to shoot the lookbook for her new stuff on Zelie for She (absolutely visit her store, her collections are so much fun!). In our downtime, we did bits and pieces of thrift shopping, cut a rug in Party City, and did some last minute pick-ups for a beautiful tea party she threw for us. (Catch all the bits of my fun-filled weekend with Elann and Shay on my Instagram). Of course, we took the time for a few snaps.
When I saw this men's sweatshirt, I couldn't resist. I'm a girl for the provocative sometimes. And plus, homegirl has a red lip!

Styling Tip: It's quite alright to shop the Men's section of a store. Sometimes their selections are a lot more interesting than Woman's. Don a heel and lipstick for a feminine touch.

I'm getting myself together for Full Figured Fashion Week. Will any of you beautiful ladies be attending? Let me know, I can show you around my hometown!

Outfit Deets:
Shirt - "Classy Suck It Crew Sweatshirt" from Urban Outfitters
Pants - Ankle Zip Stiletto Jeans from Torrid

OUTFIT: Printed Harem Pants

This summer I vow to live in harem pants. Not only are they comfortable, they are super flattering (contrary to popular belief). I love that I can throw on a tank and make a statement with little to no effort. I got this fun, printed pair from H&M. In other posts I've worn the black pair; I wish H&M made these in more colors and prints. I'd buy them out of house and home haha.
This past weekend, I was in Philly for The Roots picnic (which was phenomenal and I plan on making an annual thing). My friends and I decided to make a weekend of it, and stayed for an extra day. We ventured to Sabrina's Cafe & Spencer's Too before heading out to the premiere of Brooklyn Flea Market in Philly. I swear, I see Questlove so much that I've conjured up a BFF-ship in my mind. We're going to hang later this week, duh.

The only rules when it's 90+ degrees? There are no rules. Wear whatever you want! Mix prints, bright colors - it's more about fabric quality than anything. Stick with breathable cottons (no one likes clothes sticking to their bodies!)

Outfit Deets:
Shirt - Gifted from an event
Pants - H&M
Sandals - Urban Outfitters (buckled version here)
Earrings - Kensie
Sunglasses - boohoo (find here)

Anyone else kicking it at festivals?

SHOPPING: It's Fatkini Season, Baby!

Me rocking the coveted Galaxy Print Bikini from the Gabifresh for Swimsuits For All Collection

Since last summer when Gabifresh dubbed the term "fatkini", the media has been a-buzz about the phenomenon. It must be so mind blogging that women sizes 14+ want to wear two piece, trendy bathing suits like the rest of the world! *insert sarcasm, haha*

The fascination is spreading, and I've gotten tons of inquiries about where to acquire said "fatkini" and plus size high-waisted bikini bottoms. So keep reading to get the lowdown on five of my favorite brands...

OUTFIT: Mixed Floral Prints

Wait, what? What is that you say? SUNLIGHT? Yes, we had a full week of thunderstorms and sunlight, so I brought out the floral arsenal. These pieces have been sitting in the back of my closet for months and I know they were happy to see the light of day just as much as I was.
Styling Tip: When mixing florals, make sure the prints are the same size - you want your eye to move seamlessly from top to bottom.
 Outfit Deets:
Blouse - Prabal Gurung for Target (find here)
Sandals - BCBG "Blaire" (grab them here)
Sunglasses - Street Vendor (similar from Marc Jacobs here)
Earrings - Kensie (similar from Max & Chloe)

HAPPY SUMMER!
