We are now in the latter seasons of the year and our tans are fading but hopefully we can still play up that summer glow. Here are some tips for producing stunning looks for the Holiday season's events. Don't be afraid to try new things but I would say it's best to try these out before going out for the real deal.
Instead of overdoing it with bronzer, there are other ways to look fresh: try some different highlighters and shimmers. Highlighters draw attention to the eyes, nose and cheek bones, accentuating the lines and structure of your face. Tarina Tarantino has a line at Sephora and I adore her Eye Dream Hyperliner in "Broken Doll" which is a two in one eye pencil and highlighter that I've been primarily using as a highlighter for my nose. It adds just a shuttle shimmer with barely there color but it's perfection.
Bold lips are a definite attention grabber and a quick way to sex up an outfit. Whether you chose a sensual red or a bright color, do something that will turn heads. YSL has great lipstick, my fave red is from their line. And Mac has great shades from their regular collection to the Viva Glam colors, which I have in Gaga.
Milani. And you'll need at least three shadows for a smokey eye (one base, one dark, and one blender that's in between) anything Mac is great.
If the eye's going to be the dramatic element, the lips should be very sutble, either nude or slightly hued. For a great nude try something from Buxom's Buxom Big & Healthy Lipstick which is awesome; the color is great and lasts a while and there's some lip plumer technology going on too. The Fall/Winter staple Smashbox's O-GLOSS Noir (which I'd written about a month or so ago) is another great option. It's not easy to find now, but some still have it, so snatch it up!Using jewel coloring and vivid color is a wonderful way to brighten your face and make your eyes pop. One great eye liner to add to this look is MAKE UP FOREVER's Aqua Eyes. Their jewel tones are gorgeous. For other fun vivid colors, check out Mac, too.
