REVIEW: Red Rooster

Those who know me know of my love for Harlem - my job, my friends, and pretty much majority of my social life revolve around it. Of course, I adore Marcus Samuelsson and all that he does and couldn’t help but make my way to Red Rooster for an early dinner.

We had Crab Cakes (Lump Crab Cakes, Spiced Mayo, Avocado) that we devoured so quickly there was no hope of snapping a flick, Blackened Catfish & Black Eyed Peas, and Fried Yard Bird.

For the price, I’m not exactly sure we got what we expected. The bill reached a centennial - almost $100 for a cocktail, beer, shared appetizer, and two entrees. The restaurant’s saving grace was The Savoy - a delightful, refreshing cocktail of Wodka, Lemon, Muddled Grapes, and Agave.

Stop by Red Rooster and possibly shake the hand of The Man of Honor himself - Samuelsson is always present to look his patron’s in the eye!
