I will sing perpetual praise for the Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse (more affectionately known in the Natural Hair community as “ACV Rinse”). Achieving squeeky clean curls is as simple as digging within the depths of your kitchen cabinet and grabbing this miracle worker.
I wish I snapped a picture of my hair before my rinse. It was dusty, dry and chock full of product build-up. I’m always amazed by the apple cider rinse - as soon as the vinegar touches my hair, it flows down my drain like a mudslide. What are the benefits of an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse, you ask?
Hair follicles have a naturally low acidic value. The acidic pH of the Apple Cider Vinegar neutralizes this and closes the hair cuticle. This process locks in moisture -leading to defined curls, ease of detangling, and super shiny tresses.
With a scalp free of product, I applied WEN Sweet Almond Mint Conditioner(which I received in my Influenster Naturals Voxbox). I instantly felt the mint going to work - who doesn’t love the tingle? Not to mention my curls were incredibly hydrated and soft to the touch. Dare I say they bounced back at me?
I’ve implemented this ACV Rinse -> WEN Sweet Almond Mint Conditionerroutine into my hair regimen for the past few weeks and my hair is looking and feeling healthier than ever.
I’ve also added a new item to my natural hair product lineup (I’ll share later) and got a trim-and-shaping. I’ll share later!
