Today, the plus-size community is celebrating the life of supermodel Mia Amber. She was not only beautiful, but had a wonderful personality, infectious smile, and a tenacity for representing us to the rest of the world that is so hard to match.
I first met Mia Amber at Curves and Cocktails in 2009 - my first event as a website, and felt so blessed and privileged to be in the presence of such magnificent women. Deanna and I asked Mia to snap a flick after having a conversation, and she did not hesitate for a second - she even continued the conversation when we were done. I saw Mia at many an event after, and she never lost that spark.
She has touched so many people in so many ways, and she is truly missed.
