Lights, Camera, BB Cream!

So I ran across this app on Facebook from Smashbox Cosmetics that lets you become the star of their latest Smashbox BB Cream video. I am a sucker for great marketing and an even bigger supporter of fun interactivity!

Fans of Smashbox Cosmetics and Smashbox BB Cream can enter a contest via the Smashbox Facebook app. The person with the most votes gets a year's supply of BB Cream, which a couple of girlfriends SWEAR by (I personally can't live without the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer, so I have no doubt this BB Cream is ALL the business).

Instructions:

•           Visit bbcreamapp.smashbox.com and answer a few basic questions about yourself: describe your skin tone, what city you live in and then upload five photos of yourself (make sure they’re your favorite camera-ready moments).

•           Click “View Your Video” to create your personalized video, which shows your visit to the Smashbox studios – from your pick-up at the airport to your Flawless Face BB Photo Shoot.

•           Share your studio experience with your friends via Facebook, share the link in an email or even embed the video into your own personal blog.

•           Each week through the end of May, a winner will be selected based on whose video receives the most votes.

Have fun!! And visit Smashbox's site and Facebook for more information on BB Cream.

Jewelmint x Stella & Dot

(via instagram) Today was a Jewelmint and Stella & Dot kind of day. I snagged the Jewelmint Cinema Americano bracelet before it sold out, lucky lucky! Here's a video so you can witness the bracelet in all of its glory:

Duane Reade LOOK Boutique

A few days ago, my girl Tineey invited me to celebrate some pretty big news with her - she's been selected as one of Duane Reade's VIP Bloggers! Being a girl that makes weekly pit stops in Duane Reade, I couldn't be happier for her. I thought I knew what I had in store, but Duane Reade at 40 Wall Street is SO INSANE and unexpected I have to sit and gather my thoughts before I spew them out to you...

The Hair Salon.
There is a hair salon for ALL hair types (including us natural curly girlies), operated by Phyto Universe. Not only do they provide full service with top of the line products and tools, they give the standard Phyto scalp analysis which is wonderfully in-depth and guides your hair appointment (which is great when you THINK you know your hair).

The Nail Bar.
Okay, so crazy story - the Nail Bar at Duane Reade's 40 Wall Street location used to be Rockerfeller's office! Developers discovered a large mirror above the fireplace (yes, there's a fireplace) and decided to keep it. To align with the richness of the former bank, developers covered the fireplace in marble. Talk about tinkle toes like a princess? The Duane Reade Nail Bar offers gel manicures and other services expected at a nail salon at really affordable prices.

The Brow Bar.
The Ramy Brow Bar is definitely recommended. My brow artist did an immaculate job keeping my brow shape natural and clean. Her tweezing tip? Tweeze slanted and grab on an angle. Plucking forwards hurts so bad!

The Perfume Bar.
There are over 20 perfumes to select from, and you literally stand and spray. The motion-sensored perfume bar spritzes your favorite fragrances so you don't have to do the work. Juicy Couture drive-by? Thank you, I'll take two!

Virtual Makeover.
Every girl's worst nightmare is buying a cosmetic item that is not the right shade for her. Duane Reade takes care of this by letting you try the products on before you buy...virtually. At the Makeover station, you take a pic, scan items, and try them on. The station keeps track of the items scanned, and prints the list for future reference. You can also email the "Before" and "After" shots to yourself. I. LOVE. THIS. Everything about it screams interactive!

I can't forget to mention the vast GOSH Cosmetics display - the successful European brand is new to American soil and I am just enamored and DYING to try it.

Me and the girls:

Donna Kim of Donna Daily, Nubia of Nubia's Nonsense, Tineey of Tineey, and me. Cutie cute stuffs!

Tineey got it all on camera, check out her video:

Gals, don't worry - 40 Wall Street is easily accessible via Express Trains (choo choo 2 train!). I'll be on my way back there soon, let me know if you'd like to join ;)

Tribal Toes

Michael Antonio shoes, Tish in Mustard. Ridiculously comfortable for a curvy girl who needs support. I wore these to Tineey's Duane Reade VIP Blogger event and I didn't regret a minute of it (I usually do when it comes to heels).

MASQUE Out + About: TLC's "What Not To Wear LIVE"

One of my best girlfriends, Stephanie (who is a SERIOUS fashionista!), and I attended a filming of TLC's first ever live show for "What Not To Wear". Initially excited, the reality of the situation kicked in and after 10 hours of shooting, we were in a diner eating our feelings. Can we say waffle fries and nutella sandwiches? I don't know how they do it...

On the bright side, we got to meet Stacy and saw Clinton again (Stephanie interviewed him for MASQUE not too long ago), and met Carmindy (whose line with Sally Hansen I reviewed here) and Ted Gibson. Both Stacy and Clinton complimented Stephanie the entire time we were there, and the girl who was being made over was such an amazing sport.

Of course, because of contracts, we couldn't take too many pics, but catch the premiere of "What Not to Wear" LIVE episode on May 29th. Spot us if you can!

My Spring Beauty Bag

A quick video of my Spring Beauty Bag. Subconsciously, I've picked out all golds, pinks, and oranges this season; a coincidence I'm willing to run with! The run down:

Most things in my cosmetic bag are less than $5! What are some of your favorite drugstore staples this Spring?

Friday Night Neon Lights.

A quick snap shot of me before a night out...I've absolutely fallen in love with Wet N' Wild Megalast lipsticks. A friend suggested it to me during our last beauty haul day at Duane Reade in Harlem, and I haven't been the same since. This color is "Don't Blink Pink", which I will show in a Youtube video later ;)

As usual, I'm wearing the Nicka K Eye Light Crayon in Gold. I do not joke when I say that it is my STAPLE beauty item!
